It’s late April and we’re still the the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. Quarantine has been a surreal trip, to say the least, and it’s unclear when it will be over. To keep our fans (and selves) entertained, DykedDown reached out to some of favorite friends and colleagues to check in and see how they were holding up. The following is an interview with the one and only Kristen Scott, conducted about 45 days into quarantine. Here’s how the LA-based performer, longtime homie, and DykedDown alum is holding up.
DykedDown: Are you the type of person who’s naturally prepared for apocalyptic scenarios?
Kristen Scott: I hadn’t ever thought about prepping for an apocalyptic situation until the tension between Iran and the US reached its peak earlier in the year. I immediately bought at least a month’s worth of emergency food and supplies just for peace of mind. I guess some part of me knew I might need it soon!
When did you start taking quarantine seriously? Was there a tipping point for you personally?
Well my birthday was on March 13th and I think it really hit me then. A good friend planned to bring me to an art exhibit… and it ended up being closed last minute — that’s when I realized how serious everything was. I had a dinner planned with a big group of friends, too, and I’ll never forget looking down that huge table and it seeing it almost empty. I even questioned if it was selfish of me to have the dinner given the circumstances. It was upsetting to not have my friends there to celebrate with me, but it was also very important for me to realize how bad the situation really was.
Did you stockpile anything unusual or particular — whether weed or lube or baby wipes or even a favorite snack?
I bought a lot of weed, baby wipes (for when the toilet paper runs out). I bought a bunch of cans of soup too.
How has your daily routine changed most since quarantine became real?
It was pretty all over the place at first. Now, I have an actual schedule going, so I can work on custom videos and content on certain days, and use other days just to read, do yoga, and focus on learning something new.
Have you watched any good movies or read any good books since this started?
I’ve read The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, which I honestly think everyone should read at least once while on lockdown. After I reread it I’m going to read The Body Keeps The Score by Bessel Van der Kolk MD.
I haven’t watched many movies since this started, I’ve watched a lot of Netflix series. Love Is Blind, I’m Not Okay With This, Terrace House Tokyo. I wish I could remember what else, but I’ve been really high on some fantastic pot brownies during most of my binge watching (thanks Nikki!).
How has the pandemic affected your porn career? Have you started embracing independent platforms like OnlyFans more? Are you camming?
I was already starting to lean more on my OnlyFans for my income towards the end of last year, and it’s been booming lately. I am so grateful to have the fan base that I do. Independence in porn is such a blessing. I have been live streaming on my OnlyFans a lot more during this time — it’s been so much fun!
What’s the nicest thing a fan has said or done for you since the lockdowns started?
I’ve had some incredible fans send me snacks, workout gear, and even some supplies to paint with! I even had a fan gift my pets some super comfy beds! I love my fans so much. I am so grateful.
Are you masturbating more or less under quarantine? Are you using any particular sex toys or watching any performers that you’d like to shout-out?
I’ve been masturbating a lot. I have been watching a lot of my friend’s porn lately! People like Owen Gray, Demi Sutra, Evelin Stone, Abigail Mac, Vanna Bardot, Leigh Raven, and of course lots of DykedDown. I love that most of my friends and I are so open that we can fuck casually. I just miss them so much and I miss having sex with them! I’ve been using my Hitachi (a lot). I even have a fucking machine I’ve been using. I’ve been watching some weird porn too… Monster Hentai has been a recurring theme.
What’s the first thing you want to do out in the world once this shitshow (hopefully) ends?
Go out for a BOMB vegan meal at Crossroads Kitchen, get a buzz going, then go out dancing with friends! I also want to go to NYC to see my tattoo artist and get some new pieces. But the goal is to take a two-week vacation in Maui or Kauai.
Do you have any self-care practices that you think might benefit DykedDown readers?
I take supplements daily to help boost my mood, drink LOTS of tea throughout the day, do yoga, listen to audio books, call loved ones. I think the most important things are to take time away from social media and to NOT BE SO HARD ON YOURSELF. Shit sucks right now and everyone is processing this differently. Don’t compare your experience to others. Tell someone you love them daily, and be sure to tell yourself too!!
Tiger King: yes or no?
HELL. YES. So good!
