It’s late April and we’re still the the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. Quarantine has been a surreal trip, to say the least, and it’s unclear when it will be over. To keep our fans (and selves) entertained, DykedDown reached out to some of favorite friends and colleagues to check in and see how they were holding up. The following is an interview with the one and only Charlotte Sartre (aka Goth Charlotte), conducted about 45 days into quarantine. Here’s how the Vegas-based performer, longtime homie, and DykedDown alum is holding up.
Are you the type of person who’s naturally prepared for apocalyptic scenarios?
Charlotte Sartre: I’m really not, and I’m also bad at taking care of myself. Thankfully, my husband Lance Hart is a total doomsday prepper. If I lived alone, I would be totally fucked right now. But we have enough non-perishable food, water, and ammunition to get us through the end of times. And we stocked up on everything the cats need, too.
When did you start taking quarantine seriously? Was there a tipping point for you personally?
To be honest, I wasn’t paying attention to it at first. In late February, I would get nervous when someone would cough near me in the airport… but that’s about it. When all my scenes started getting cancelled one by one, I realized the gravity of the situation because it takes something very serious to stop people from making porn.
Did you stockpile anything unusual or particular — whether weed or lube or baby wipes or even a favorite snack?
We have a ton of baby wipes here and we have bidets now. My husband is being the responsible one stocking up on all the practical things. I bought a few jugs of formalin and ethanol to work on wet preserve taxidermy. I think I’m also going to order a pet leech and feed it my blood.
How has your daily routine changed most since quarantine became real?
I’ve become even more of a lazy stupid bitch. If I don’t have any big projects to work on, I wake up around noon and hang out playing video games until dinner. Then I get on OnlyFans and respond to all my messages and send out videos. And then I stay up until around 3 in the morning watching movies in bed.
Have you watched any good movies or read any good books since this started?
I’m mostly rewatching my old favorites. The first thing I did was watch The Lord of the Rings extended edition trilogy again. Last night we watched Event Horizon. And I’m reading Foucault lately.
How has the pandemic affected your porn career? Have you started embracing independent platforms like OnlyFans more? Are you camming?
Surprisingly, my OnlyFans is actually growing and I’m making more money now than I was before the pandemic — without having to be on set. And I’m not spending any money traveling to LA or Europe for shoots. Studios have also been hiring me to produce scenes at home for them, solo, as well as with my husband. I’m not camming because I don’t really like it and I’m not good at entertaining a room full of people.
What’s the nicest thing a fan has said or done for you since the lockdowns started?
I’m getting a lot of random tips from fans who appreciate my content, and I think that’s super sweet. Just yesterday one guy tipped me $100 without asking anything in return. It’s really nice and makes me want to put even more effort into my OnlyFans and make my subscribers happy.
Are you masturbating more or less under quarantine? Are you using any particular sex toys or watching any performers that you’d like to shout-out?
I’m masturbating about the same amount, I think. I just try to film it every time. I’m using this opportunity to train my ass to accept bigger dildos. I finally can fit my Tubesteak from Mr. Hankey’s Toys in my ass. (Google it if you like… it’s long, wider than a can of soda, and absolutely terrifying).
What’s the first thing you want to do out in the world once this shitshow (hopefully) ends?
I would love to go to the movies again. I really miss that
Do you have any self-care practices that you think might benefit DykedDown readers?
Take a lot of baths, perfect your skincare routine, and learn how to do your own hair!
Tiger King: yes or no?
Yes. It’s like a car accident you can’t look away from.
